Home comforts for Argyle Women

Joanne Moseley says it ‘feels right’ that Plymouth Argyle Women are to play more games at Home Park this coming season.

The newly-appointed Head of Women’s Football Operations, acknowledges it’s a big step forward by the club to integrate Argyle Women into the wider football club.

The intention is for Ryan Perks’ side to play their first three home games in the FA Women’s National League Southern Premier Division at Home Park, with the hope being that more fixtures will follow during the campaign.

Further games at the Theatre of Greens will be arranged depending on the scheduling of men’s first-team games following Sky TV selections.

“It’s a big step for the team, and for the club, that our first three home fixtures will be played in such a brilliant setting,” said Moseley.

“We are thankful to the Devon FA for the games we played at Coach Road, Newton Abbot, last season, as well as to Torpoint Athletic for use of The Mill. However, it feels right that Argyle should play matches in the city of Plymouth, and to be able to begin the campaign at Home Park is a perfect way to kick off a new era.”

Argyle Women’s Head Coach, Ryan Perks, added: “Every time we have played at Home Park in the last few seasons, the players have all raised their game.

“To use the professional facilities, play in front of a larger crowd, and to have the general feel that Home Park has, can only be of benefit to us. We can’t wait to get started.”

The first match set for Home Park is against Oxford United on Sunday, August 25.
