Argyle confirm Scarr departure

Dan Scarr has thanked staff and supporters at Plymouth Argyle for a memorable three years at Home Park.

However, the 29-year-old is set for pastures new ahead of the 2024/25 season, having agreed to join Sky Bet League One outfit, Wrexham, on a three-year deal.

Scarr made 109 appearances for the Pilgrims, 36 of which came in the club’s title-winning campaign of 2022/23 - and become Wrexham’s fifth summer signing following the arrival of Lewis Brunt, George Dobson, Seb Revan and Callum Burton.

Taking to his Instagram account, Scarr said: “This club has become a part of my family and I’ve had some of the best memories on and off the pitch, meeting some amazing people and friends for life.

“It has been the best three years I have had in football and I can’t thank you all enough for making me a better person.

“To the Green Army, you’ve been unbelievable with me from the second I walked through the door and even backed me through the tough times! You are truly one of a kind.

“I wishing the whole club nothing but the best of luck in the future and I know you’ll smash it.

“Thank you Janners. Once a green, always a green.”

Central defender Scarr was well into his 20s before he became a full-time footballer, joining his boyhood club Birmingham City from non-league Stourbridge. After a loan spell with Wycombe Wanderers, Scarr joined Walsall from where he moved onto Argyle in 2021.
